Indonesia - Java - Air Terjun Curung Sewu (Curung Sewu Waterfall) by Stewart Leiwakabessy on Flickr.
Curug Sewu Waterfall
Located near the Sewu village, this waterfall in a beautiful landscape is one of the waterfalls in Central Java. It’s said to be around 70-80 meters high, and consists of 3 separate cascading terraces: the 1st is 45m, the 2nd is 15m and the 3rd goes 20m down. Especially when water levels are high, the waterfall shows a rich cascading waterflow, and on sunny days it may show a beautiful rainbow. The area also has a zoo, a kids’ play area and some swimming pool. Several warungs (little shops) offer snacks, fruit, water and other food (related) items.
Java is the world’s most densely populated island (population: 136 million). It is home to 60% of Indonesia’s population. Much of Indonesian history took place on Java; it was the centre of powerful Hindu-Buddhist empires, Islamic sultanates, the core of the colonial Dutch East Indies, and was at the centre of Indonesia’s campaign for independence. The island dominates Indonesian social, political and economic life. More information on wikipedia.
